Elon Musk rebrands Twitter to ‘X’ in brand overhaul
Elon Musk has announced Twitter's new logo, an X, replacing the distinctive bird logo
Twitter will soon ditch its famous Blue Bird logo in favour of a "X," according to Elon Musk. This is the most significant alteration since the business magnate paid $44 billion to acquire the social media site. Earlier today, according to Musk, the modification will take place.
The microblogging service will be called "X" and will be powered by AI. It will focus on audio, video, message, payments, and baking. Twitter CEO Linda Yaccino has previously confirmed this.
"Getting a second chance to make another big impression is an exceptionally rare thing, in life or in business," the boss tweeted. "Twitter has a profound impact and altered how we communicate. The worldwide town square will now undergo additional transformation thanks to X.
She went on to say, "X will connect us all in ways we're just beginning to imagine."
Musk released a brief video of a flashing "X" on Sunday, and when asked whether the company's emblem would change, he answered "Yes" in a Twitter Spaces audio chat.
He said to an unidentified speaker, "Yeah we're cutting the Twitter logo off the building with blow torches."
By placing the most frequently utilised services behind a barrier, Twitter has recently been encouraging more users to purchase premium blue subscriptions. The corporation might further improve the platform with this rebranding in order to encourage more people to jump on the subscription bandwagon. Musk's Twitter is up against Meta's Thread, which has millions of users and operates a platform similar to Twitter.
The biggest microblogging network in the world has changed its branding, and in the next days, the URL x.com will redirect to twitter.com. Elon Musk is also thinking about changing the platform's default colour, which is now set to white, to black.
Musk has previously experimented with the branding of Twitter. Twitter's blue bird logo was changed to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin's emblem in April 2023. But in a few of days, the old logo took its place.
