MP man shoots wife for wearing perfume while going out, goes missing
A man allegedly shot his wife following an argument over her wearing perfume while going outside in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior.
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a man allegedly shot his wife after they quarrelled about her wearing perfume outside. While the male fled the scene after the event, the woman, who had suffered serious injuries, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Eight years ago, Neelam Jatav, a citizen of Ganeshpura in the vicinity of Bijoili Thana, wed Mahendra Jatav. Neelam moved in with her parents when Mahendra Jatav, who had a criminal background (involvement in stealing crimes), was imprisoned.
Mahendra was released from prison a year ago after serving a four-year sentence, and he immediately moved in with his wife at her parents' house.
Mahendra questioned Neelam about wearing perfume and "being too dressed up" as she was getting ready to leave her residence on Saturday, which sparked a fight between the two of them.
The quarrel quickly became more heated, and Mahendra shot his wife once in the chest out of rage. He left the scene as Neelam collapsed to the ground.
Dinesh Jatav, Neelam's brother, instantly called their family and drove her to the hospital.
According to the complaint made by Neelam's family, police have charged Mahendra with attempted murder and have begun looking for him.
